Volker Kropp, MD
Dr. Volker Kropp received his Medical Degree from the University of Chile in Santiago, Chile. He did an academic fellowship in Surgery and Pathology at the University of Chile, Hospital San Juan de Dios. He completed his Residency in Surgery at Boston City Hospital and New England Deaconess Hospital, Harvard Surgical Service in Boston, Massachusetts and served as Chief Resident at New England Deaconess Hospital, Harvard Surgical Services in Boston. Dr. Kropp was certified by The American Board of Surgery in 1988.
Academic appointments include Assistant Instructor, University of Chile School of Medicine in Santiago, Chile and Clinical Fellow in Surgery, Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts.
Since relocating to New Hampshire, Dr. Kropp has provided a full array of general surgical services to our community. In addition to attending to his busy practice, Dr. Kropp has held numerous leadership positions including Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff at Parkland Medical Center. He also has served on the Board of Trustees at Parkland Medical Center.
Dr. Kropp feels that high quality medical care requires getting to know his patients and their individual healthcare needs. He spends extensive one-on-one time to ensure that patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options.
In his leisure time, Dr. Kropp enjoys outdoor recreational activities and spending time with his wife and children.
Maria Azizian, MD
Dr. Maria Azizian received her medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont. She completed her residency in general surgery at SUNY Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, NY, and the University of Vermont College of Medicine where she served as chief resident. Prior to joining Nutfield Surgical Associates, she was in private practice as a general and trauma surgeon in Nashua, NH. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery and a member of the American College of Physicians.
As a general and trauma surgeon, Dr. Azizian performs a full array of surgical services and has extensive experience in basic and advanced laparoscopic surgery. She has a special interest in breast, colorectal, gallbladder, and hernia repair surgery.
Dr. Azizian has a strong desire to participate in health education and outreach programs at the local level. She has helped organize and coordinate food distribution at a neighborhood community center and organized stress management workshops and grief counseling for earthquake victims. She is multilingual and fluent in English, Russian and Armenian.
In her leisure, Dr. Azizian enjoys reading and jazz music.
Dr. Azizian currently welcomes new patients to her office located at 6 Tsienneto Road, Suite 203 in Derry, NH.
